We were invited to be at the station at 6:40 am and were given a quick run through of how it would all go down. I was the sixth of 7 human competitors. I woke up at 5 am to do this knowing that there was no monetary gain to be received. So why did I do it? Because I didn’t want to do it. And there was no reason stronger than that. Despite tons of public speaking experience, moments before I was on the air, my heart began to thump! I told myself that I had a long day of work to look forward to all day. This was a good reason to get those extra hours of sleep. But I realized that such reasons were mere excuses to continue living in my comfort zone. Now that I’ve done it, I know that this experience has made me a much stronger personality.
